Covid-1984 Obedience To Authority As a Worldwide Milgram Experiment
The Origins of Violence, Wars, and Governments in Child Abuse and Neglect
“This is, perhaps, the most fundamental lesson of our study: ordinary people, simply doing their jobs, and without any particular hostility on their part, can become agents in a terrible destructive process. A substantial proportion of people do what they are told to do, irrespective of the content of the act and without limitations of conscience, so long as they perceive that the command comes from a legitimate authority. Obedience is as basic an element in the structure of social life as one can point to. Obedience is the psychological mechanism that links individual action to political purpose. It is the dispositional cement that binds men to systems of authority. Our studies deal only with obedience that is willingly assumed in the absence of threat of any sort, obedience that is maintained through the simple assertion by authority that it has the right to exercise control over the person. When you think of the long and gloomy history of man, you will find more hideous crimes have been committed in the name of obedience than have ever been committed in the name of rebellion.” Stanley Milgram

“If you love death and destruction, oppression and suffering, injustice and violence, repression and torture, helplessness and despair, perpetual conflict and bloodshed, then teach your children to respect ‘authority:’ and teach them that obedience is a virtue. If, on the other hand, you value peaceful coexistence, compassion and cooperation, freedom and justice, then teach your children the principles of self-ownership, teach them to respect the rights of every human being, and teach them to recognize and reject the belief in ‘authority’ for what it is: the most irrational, self-contradictory, anti-human, evil, destructive and dangerous superstition the world has ever known.” Larken Rose
Statism: The Most Dangerous Religion (by Larken Rose)
“The history of childhood is a nightmare from which we have only recently begun to awaken. The further back in history one goes, the lower the level of child care. The source of most human violence and suffering has been a hidden children's holocaust throughout history, whereby billions of innocent human beings have been routinely murdered, bound, starved, raped, mutilated, battered, and tortured by their parents and other caregivers, so that they grow up as emotionally crippled adults and become vengeful time bombs who periodically restage their early traumas in sacrificial rites called wars. The evolution of the psyche is first of all accomplished by removing terrible abuses of children and their resulting developmental distortions, allowing the psyche to produce historical novelty and achieve its own inherent human growth path. Culture evolves through the increase of love and freedom for children. Can we afford not to teach parenting? What more important task can we devote our resources to? History is now a race between too slowly improving childrearing and too fast evolving destructive technology. The crucial task of future generations will be to raise loved children who grow up to be peaceful, rather than walking time bombs. Self-mastery must replace the mastery of others. Global suicide must not continue to be our goal.” Lloyd deMause
Léon Cogniet | Massacre of the Innocents, 1824
I just cross-posted John Leake’s Substack article:
“America's Bizarre and Venal New Religions--The COVID-19 Cult and other strange forms of worship.”
John's article and the one by David Zweig he links to, resonant with my Liberty Bell and its Crack which lets the Light of Voluntaryism in.
Leonard Cohen - Anthem
This essay is mainly elicited by the linked article in John’s piece: “The School That Couldn’t Quit Covid”
but it also responds to the well written and stimulating article by John, disagreeing with his understanding of the Covid-19(84) ScamPlanneDemic as enabled by the Cult of Scientism and the worship of Mammon.
I want to establish the claim that the harm humans do to themselves and others individually in suicides-murders, and collectively as individuals in conspired events like Wars and Covid-1984, is foundationally and evidentially best explained by Child Abuse-Neglect (see Lloyd deMause and Psychohistory www.psychohistory.com ) and the Obedience to Authority inherent in the Human Condition and the Family/Clan conditioner.
John and other religiously inclined commentators on Covid-1984 confuse the symptoms of “Scientism” or “Mammon” as causes of this Conspiracy Fact they believe were brought on by the vacuum left by the “Death of God” (see below Sprouts video: “Nietzsche: God Is Dead”) itself brought on by the West’s Enlightenment of the 1700s and the rise of Individualism and Reason.
To me as a Voluntaryist https://voluntaryist.com/ (all governments are unnecessary evils), Atheist, and Valuer of the Scientific Method, such “symptoms” are protective-projective defenses of the Subjective Human Mind attempting to deal with the Objective Reality of Death and Sex funnelled through the evolutionary Familial/Clan Matrix-Pattern Structure of Authority.
Thank you, David, for your “The School That Couldn’t Quit Covid”, a very sad tale between the legs of a fearfully obedient, State domesticated “pet” of a school.
I would hope the disenchanted parents might have considered Home Schooling to exit from this worldwide Milgram Experiment. But these “highly educated” parents went to public/private schools similar to the ones they are sending their children to—hence their Obedience to Authority like the original 65% participating in the shocking exposé of U.S. order followers.
As a teacher of Parent Effectiveness Training (P.E.T.) https://www.parenteffectivenesstrainingnewzealand.com/ that substitutes negotiated mutual need meeting for rewards and punishments to control the child—in short, relies on responsible freedom for all; as well as someone trained in the Montessori Method; it never ceases to amaze me how many Montessori schools aided and abetted the Covid-1984 Totalitarian Takeover attempt that unfortunately too often succeeded as in this school.
I would hope if Maria were alive today she would have had the young ones paint the masks into butterflies and hang them out the window to wave hello to freedom blowing in the wind.
“We must realize that the child is the builder of the man. Our starting point must be the revelation of the characteristics of the human individual. Discipline must come through liberty. Only through freedom and environmental experience is it practically possible for human development to occur. The first aim of the prepared environment is to render the growing child independent of the adult. These words reveal the child’s inner needs: ‘Help me to do it alone’. Within the child lies the fate of the future. The child is both a hope and a promise for mankind.” Maria Montessori
How the Inspirational Life of Maria Montessori has Impacted the World
“As a society we must urgently adopt the goal of finding and teaching effective alternatives to authority and power in dealing with other persons—children or adults—alternatives that will produce human beings with sufficient courage, autonomy, and self-discipline to resist being controlled by authority when obedience to that authority would contradict their own sense of what is right and what is wrong. Parents can raise children who are responsible, self-disciplined, and cooperative without relying on the weapon of fear; they can learn how to influence children to behave out of genuine consideration for the needs of parents rather than out of fear of punishment or withdrawal of privileges.” Thomas Gordon, P.E.T creator
Parent Effectiveness Training P.E.T
P.E.T. raises non-obedient young persons who are responsible for their freedom of conscience and who will break the vicious cycle of “The gods visit the sins of the fathers upon the children.” Euripides.
No one rules if no one obeys. That is the hope I have for Homo sapiens sapiens, that we may live up to our name of the wise, wise, earthly ones at peace with ourselves and others of all ages.
“Once you trust yourself you will know how to live.” Goethe
“To trust children we must first learn to trust ourselves…and most of us were taught as children that we could not be trusted.” John Holt
We will only come to trust ourselves if we choose to grow up, become parents to ourselves, become our own sole, ultimate Authority and choose to be responsible for our freedom. Not in omnipotent, eternal Gods and Saviors--but in ourselves as terminal, fallible Human Beings--we should trust.
Nietzsche: God Is Dead
2:06> “Imagine a 13-year-old who is awakened in the middle of the night to be told by strangers that both his parents have died. He is suddenly an orphan. For as long as he can remember, his mother and father were present in his life looking after him and guiding him. Now they are gone, and ready or not, he is thrust into that world alone. How does the young teen handle that sudden transition? Culturally, Nietzsche says, we are like that young teen. For as long as we can remember our society relied upon god the father to look after us. But now suddenly we are orphaned. We wake up one morning to discover that in our heart of hearts, our naively childhood religious beliefs have withered away. So now, whether we like it or not, a question creeps into our minds: how do we face the prospect of a world without a god and religion? In the 19th century, says Nietzsche, most people did not face that question well.”
“Men, be human, that is your primary duty: be human for every circumstance, for every age, for everything that is not foreign to mankind. What wisdom is there for you besides humanity? The most useful and least advanced area of all human knowledge seems to me to be Man himself…. The serious study of Man, of his natural faculties and their successive developments . . . research into political and moral life. . . .considers what we would have become, abandoned to ourselves.” Jean-Jacques Rousseau
Let us accept being abandoned to ourselves. The Death of our Gods is the Birth of Responsibly Free Human Beings.
