July 4, Interdependence Wedding Day for JacKatharine and their GREAT LOVE

31st Anniversary of their Marriage in Maryborough, Queensland, Australia, July 4, 1993

The illustrated essay below was written in 2014 in China to celebrate Jack and Katharine’s 21st wedding Anniversary and is put here ten years later to do the same for the 31st. I hope it speaks to a few of you who are Pairing Today For Life toward a GREAT LOVE.

A GATHERING OF KATHARINE’S BIRTHDAY POEMS BY HER HUSBAND, JACK

June 16/17, 1962, Katharine was born in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia the “Garden City”. Here is a gathering of poems I wrote to celebrate the birth of Katharine, my Great Love, my Other Half, who died in my mind and arms December 17, 1996. The poems are sequenced in the time they were written beginning with the first one in 1989, the only one written when she was alive. The dates are indicated.

FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY (June 17, 1989)

How time’s muse becomes you.

My hands rest full of your essential curve

That returns my mind through your flesh.

I keep the compact to mean your sweet fact

Breast rise, ass surge, calf lilt,

Your belly’s most deft swell.

I ache to erect this ancient arch,

For I love that which brings the world accurately back.

And you do, as I occur and come clear,

Intact within your nubile mind.

You remind me to be what I understand,

You bring me round to your universe

One constant turn through your woman to my man.

FOR KATHARINE’S 40TH BIRTHDAY, 6 YEARS AFTER HER DEATH

(June 17, 2002)

June 17, 2002 moves its clouds across

a quarter moon smile growing to face

its fullness in time and I celebrate

your dark matter the universe

needs to come back again.

Your breasts still manage the emptiness

hiding in the two quotes of my hands

and breathe twice for me with

the unending history of their beauty.

I am still making love to you 6 years

after your flesh left the earth

buried in the middle of my mind.

Return your pert curves to where

they belong as I turn again and

again to your absence to gaze upon

that sheen of stars glazing your left

cheek upon the lips of this poem.

I am so blessed to be beyond

the gods when I touch you at home

within my wilderness.

This earth is still trying to spin us

off its skin but it cannot turn fast enough

to break the kisses our feet

plant forever upon the dust.

I remember your life with all my life

and will continue to until I cannot.

FOR KATHARINE’S 41^ST BIRTHDAY (JUNE 17, 2003)

Love, the breeze off the sleeve

of your beauty finds my lips

repeating the world as you.

I make you out of love so

I may make love to you, again.

The bells of the sun ring out

on the tips of your eyelashes

and you step onto my tongue.

I hover on the edge of

the black hole of your death

wanting in and yet I stay out

because you asked me to remain

here to mourn and enjoy the life we lived.

Soon it is your 7^th birthday without me,

June 17, 2003, and I know nothing

more than my frail Yes

held in pieces against life’s

single torrential No.

But our love is, even after

6 ½ years of your death, more alive

than ever and so threatens the very quick

of those lives that cannot believe such could exist.

GONE (June 17, 2004)

Dear Katharine

You have gone nearly
Completely through me.

But I will never be
Completely through with you.

The part of me you took
Is my heart leaving me
Only with this unsteady art

That comes to connect
Whatever it is I have left
Without you.

Another year careens into the Void
rhyming with too many words
but not your name.

Please keep me
coming true
through you.

JUNE 17, 2008

Katharine’s 46^th birthday, today.

She has been dead for 11 ½ years.

So have I.

I wonder when I will rise up from the dead, if ever?

I keep searching for another You but never yet has she come forth to be with me.

She is hidden as the Truth. Alethe.

FOR KATHARINE: AS EVER, NEVER IS  (June 17, 2009)

13 years you have left your body buried in mine a seed the size of our earth

You have broken down into me and I have broken open through you

Your left nipple dawns into my lips that sip the praise of pain

Your laughter strums the underbelly of the whitest shred of cloud left as last thought of pure blue sky

A daisy climbs the sun’s ladder out of my right eye remembering your mirror in which I am at home

How my hand still finds its cup full of your full moon’s breast

What do I need to do other than love these others as you and then die

FOR KATHARINE – 15 YEARS AFTER YOUR DEATH (June 17, 2011)

Your stop is still

Stuck in the throat of my life

Attached to the head

I left to the blade fallen from hell

That head continued reliving your death

For 15 years detached from this body

Now I let that head roll into your tomb

And feel the bud growing out of my neck

A head start among the stars

KATHARINE, THE SOURCE OF MY RESOURCE (June 17, 2015)

This Light that shines from your Black Hole Blinds me to Bind me to all.

From You, through Us, we released ourselves from Bondage to Bond.

Few have or will ever live this Love that was ours to Have, Hold and Let Go.

Millenniums of staggering far beyond Salvation and Original Sin is my Lot.

Acceptable for having met you and me through you.

Let being Human be Enough.

The Aliens come not from without but from within.

Magnificent our Achievement.

I come from this World which is still Alien to those Born here Unable to Bear it.

Enlightenment and Saving the World has nothing to do with It but only Them.

Buyer beware! The Masters need Slaves as much as the Slaves need Masters.

Simply Grow Up and be Responsible for your Freedom.

My Love,

This is something I hope you wear for many years - thinking of me when you do!  My favorite color is this aqua blue and I hope you like it too.  It reminds me of all the pleasure that comes from serenity & calm, the way I feel now that I have you, to make me secure & happy.

Nobody has ever been so complementary to my easy going, peaceful nature and its perfectionist undertones.  I love you for our interdependence and the growth that has meant for me.

Katharine, For Our Tenth Anniversary, July 4, 2003

Upon your lower lip that carries all the light

Scattered as fired matter of the universe,

I find the faint line in breathless blue

Of the new moon going under as the sun comes

Into barren frangipani tongues

Gagged with the forever green of their unasked for sheen

Showing the Australian winter its summer’s wonder.

Then there are your hips

That still hide in my hands and take them home

Into your heart that beats beyond all fists

Upon the unforgivable block of your dead body

That my black hole of longing compresses out of all time

Into a single neuron burning as any star

To explain the duty of the dark

To the shining first born who is the last to bear it.

I unwrap each word from its false flags to speak of your clarity

That saw me through the Second Law’s wall of Heraclitus’ mud

To dwell between the drumbeats of the blood’s bruising thuds

Upon that lark risen rung upon rung of light

Into the love we reached from the other in our each

That taught us how to teach why we learned to love

In order to live for as long as for ever is.
